Second-degree murder charge laid in death of Oxbow woman

The Saskatchewan RCMP has released the name of the woman killed in southeast Saskatchewan, and has announced charges against second person in relation to the homicide.

OXBOW — The Saskatchewan RCMP has released the name of the woman killed in southeast Saskatchewan, and has announced charges against an Oxbow man.

The adult female, found deceased in a rural location in the RM of Moose Mountain around noon on April 25, has been identified as 28-year-old Brianna Hayes from Oxbow, RCMP said Friday afternoon.

Her family has been notified and Victim Services has been made available to them.

As a result of this continuing investigation, Taylor Japp, 24, from Oxbow is charged with second-degree murder. He is scheduled to appear in Regina Provincial Court on April 29.

Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes continues to investigate.

The RCMP announced on Thursday that Tyler Shaw from Gainsborough has been arrested and charged with accessory after the fact to murder. Shaw appeared in Regina Provincial Court via call on April 26 and is scheduled for court in Estevan on May 9.
