REDVERS - The town of Redvers was hopping this past Saturday during the Rock’n The Block community event.

A couple of months prior, town council members decided that they wanted to hold a celebration to give back to their community and business sector and the idea for Rock’n the Block was born.

Mayor Brad Bulbuck, Councillor Michelle Jensen and recreation director Alicia Stewart got right to work to plan a free community event to bring the citizens of Redvers and surrounding communities together.

The big event of the day was a free concert featuring Men Without Shame, along with an afternoon full of activities such as face painting, a petting zoo, carnival, show and shine, tractor display, Danny Kazam magic show and an inflatable obstacle course and Zorb ball run.

With a chance of rain in the forecast, the organizers moved the Meal on Main supper, hosted by the Redvers Lions Club, and the Men Without Shame concert to the hockey arena, but the afternoon activities stayed put on Main Street as planned.

There was a fantastic crowd of attendees throughout the day, a sold out supper and packed dance floor, and the day was deemed a huge success. The organizers are hoping to make this an annual event and hope to be able to grow it more each year.
