Submitted by S. Falconer, Southline Fir Mountain Ladies Auxiliary presented a ‘Tribute to Elvis’ Concert featuring Rory Allen on December 1. Mark Jalbert was the capable Master of Ceremonies for the evening.

The Co-operators donated $5,000 to the Assiniboia Festival of Trees.

This afternoon, after thinking about the beautiful Christmas carols that have become such an integral part of my life, I began humming a crazy, totally unrelated but seasonal song.

They come from different backgrounds, have had different experiences and are of different generations, but two southeast Saskatchewan residents have been honoured with Senate Canada 150 Medals.

Midale’s Katie Emde has become well-known this year for her fundraising efforts for autism. She was the top fundraiser in Canada for the Inside-Out for Autism initiative in April, which supported Saskatchewan Families for Effective Autism Treatment.

Santa visited with children during the annual Breakfast with Santa held by the Assiniboia Kinette Club on December 2. Residents can view and download photos taken with Santa from the Kinette’s website at www.assiniboiakinettes.com.

A full house was once again on hand at the Prince of Wales Saturday, December 2, 2017 for the 19th Annual Assiniboia Festival of Trees. The wonderful meal was provided by Rita Walter and the Knights of Columbus worked the bar.
