The staff at the Assiniboia’s branch of the RBC have spent a busy summer volunteering in Assiniboia and surrounding communities as part of their Days of Service program. They assisted with the landscaping at Limerick Park on June 8.

The Shurniak Art Gallery presents a beautiful and thought-provoking Canada 150 exhibit for the month of July and August. The exhibit depicts this southwest part of the province from 1867 to the present with agriculture as the dominant theme.

The Old Wives Lake Watershed Association and Nature Saskatchewan teamed up for a bird count at Old Wives Lake and surrounding area on June 21. The bird count takes place twice a year in spring and fall.

The Grade 9 to 12 students made an eventful class trip to Banff from June 8 to 11 accompanied by Mr. Ficzel, Mr. Fitzpatrick and Mrs. Blair. They had a quick road trip to the national park and set up their tents right before the rain began to pour.
