Legacy Park’s Grade 5 choir rehearses for Weyburn Music Festival

Parents are invited to see all school performances at the Weyburn Music Festival this year

WEYBURN – Music teacher Holly Butz at Legacy Park Elementary School led the Grade 5 students in a choir practice on Wednesday afternoon in the school’s commons area, in preparation for the Weyburn Rotary Music Festival.

The two songs performed by the Grade 5s were "Song Of Peace" and "Best Day of My Life." There are two other groups from LPES as well that will be performing for the Music Festival.

Legacy Park will host the vocal adjudicator in their gym on Tuesday, March 15 at 1:30 p.m. Families of the Grades 3, 5, and 6s are invited to attend the performance.

Meantime, the solo vocal entrants for the festival will begin on Monday, March 14 at 9 a.m., with the Weyburn Comp choir to perform at the Cugnet Centre at 1:30 p.m., then another solo session will be held at 7 p.m.

On March 14, the choir at Assiniboia Park will perform at 9 a.m., then the Legacy Park performance is at 1:30 and the solo sessions will resume at 7 p.m.

The band and instrumental performances will perform on March 16 and 17, and Stars of the Festival will be held on Wednesday, March 23 at the Cugnet Centre.
