ASSINIBOIA - The third book in the ‘Stroke of Grace’ series, written by local author Julianne Heagy, is now available on Amazon.

This book is called “Gratitude Journal”.

After Julianne Heagy experienced a stroke in May 2019, she realized she could no longer access knowledge she had spent years accumulating, her ability to read was virtually eliminated due to loss of comprehension, she now had an unreliable relationship with numbers, her emotions were extreme and  unpredictable, and daily headaches and extreme fatigue had become a part of her life.

For many months she was angry, frustrated, anxious and overwhelmed. Then she recognized that wallowing in all that she had lost was too dark of a space and chose, instead, to be grateful for all that she had. This change in mindset helped her find peace and joy again.

“Remembering to be grateful was a game-changer for me. I didn’t make a point of being grateful daily until the end of the first year after my stroke. I wish someone had told me much earlier how very important it is. Expressing gratitude changes your outlook and perspective,” said Heagy.

Julianne created this book, with its 180 writing prompts, to encourage readers to adopt a daily Attitude of Gratitude.

This book is the third in the “A Stroke of Grace” series, and was released on Amazon on March 4.

The other two books included “A Guide to Understanding and Living With an Acquired Brain Injury” and “Companion Journal”.
