ESTEVAN - A GoFundMe campaign is underway to help long-time Estevan resident Lindsey Roy, who was seriously injured in a collision earlier this year.

Jeff Stephen created the campaign page. He noted that along with Brad Dutton, Ron Maley, Murray Salaway and numerous friends of Roy’s, they have started the GoFundMe to try and help the Roy family with some of the expenses they have incurred.

Roy was involved in a motorcycle collision in Mesa, Ariz., on Jan. 11.

Since that day, he has been fighting for his life and trying hard to overcome the injuries and trauma that he has sustained from the accident.

Roy was airlifted back to Regina on Feb. 6 and has been in the care of the doctors and nurses of the Regina General Hospital. He is currently awaiting placement in long-term care as his next step on his journey to recovery. Since the accident, it has been a very difficult time for Roy’s family Bonny, sons Schuyler and Jordan, and for their extended family.

“As we all know, Lindsey is one hell of a good man and would be first in line to help anyone in any circumstance,” Stephen wrote.

“Let’s band together and help this great family this most difficult trying time.”

As of Saturday morning, the campaign had raised $3,725 with 16 donors. It has a goal of $150,000.
