Charges laid in Regina crash that injured seven-year-old

This was the scene of a morning collision in Regina June 21, in which a seven--year-old was critically injured.

REGINA —Regina Police report that charges have been laid against a 47-year-old man in connection with the series of collisions resulting in a seven-year-old boy being injured in the city.

Charles Howard Raycraft, 47, of Regina, is charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle causing bodily harm under s. 320. 13(2) of the Criminal Code, and impaired operation of a vehicle by alcohol or drug, causing bodily harm under s. 320. 14(2) of the Criminal Code.

The incident happened on the morning of Tuesday, June 21. Just past 8:30 a.m., police were dispatched to the 200 block of Dalgleish Drive for a report of a motor vehicle collision with injuries. Police say the investigation revealed the driver of a black Dodge truck had crashed into several parked vehicles, struck a seven-year-old boy, crashed into two fences and hit a house. 

The child remains in hospital with serious injuries.

Raycraft is remanded until he makes his first Provincial Court appearance, which is yet to be set.
