Fire extinguished at Noble Well Servicing near Arcola

Two of the five bays were damaged

ARCOLA - Three southeast fire departments combined forces Monday to extinguish a commercial building fire just northeast of Arcola on Highway 13.

Firefighters and equipment from the Arcola, Kisbey, and Carlyle departments were on hand to control the blaze, which started around 11 a.m. at the Noble Well Servicing building.

The Observer contacted both Arcola Fire Chief Mike Heidinger and Deputy Chief Blake Brownridge.

“The three departments worked well together with each town contributing firefighters and three fire trucks. We wish to thank Greg Johnston for supplying and manning the wheel loader, Jeremy Johnston for operating the trackhoe and Terry Johnston for supplying an unlimited supply of water at no charge. We saved two of the five bays.”

Added Brownridge: “The fire department also wants to thank Graham Carter, owner of Monster Trucking, and Tim Ericksen, owner of Classic Steaming, for hauling the water. It was simply a great team effort.”

At this time the cause of the fire is unknown.
