Funds raised for Mossbank Fire Hall

Fundraising barbecue held in Mossbank for local Fire Department

MOSSBANK - The Town of Mossbank and the community group ‘Justinsane’ joined forces to sponsor a barbecue at the local firehall to honour the town’s contingent of 12 dedicated volunteer firefighters held on Nov. 18.

“It was basically an event created to help raise funds for the Fire Department, and show our appreciation for our first responders' many years of dedicated service to our community,” said Mayor Brian Howe in an interview.

“The Fire Department is always in need of better equipment, so this event was created, In part, to help them with their needs,” he added.

“This town has a rich history of volunteers and people stepping up to the plate to get things done whenever necessary. We’re very proud of all our volunteers. Because of them, this town is a such a great place to live”, Howe concluded.

The barbecue and fundraising event was used as an opportunity to formally honour and recognize a wonderful new community-minded couple who recently moved to Mossbank from British Columbia and have given countless hours of their time and money to help beautify Mossbank’s main street.

“Their hard work and dedication are truly remarkable and deeply appreciated”, said the mayor.

“This faithful couple, preferring to remain behind the scenes and quietly anonymous,” whispered Howe, “have been highly instrumental and largely responsible for advancing the Main Street Revitalization project, and beautifying our little town."

Mayor Howe hinted at an upcoming announcement of a forthcoming major expansion project by the Town of Mossbank, but would not go into details at this time.
