The City of Weyburn is grateful for a recent financial contribution by the Jerry and Orlanda Mainil family supporting the Credit Union Spark Centre.

The Mainil family has provided $300,000 towards the indoor synthetic turf field to be named Mainil Field.

“This donation from the Mainil family is another amazing demonstration of the strong community support we have from our Weyburn residents for this new facility,” said Andrew Crowe, City of Weyburn director of leisure services. “We are honoured the Mainil family values the opportunities this centre will bring to our city.”

Jerry Mainil is a well-known Weyburn resident and businessman. Jerry and his wife Orlanda have six children, and have previously noted that family is the key to their successes.

The donation adds to the excitement of previous local sponsorships from Weyburn Credit Union, MNP, Whitecap Resources Inc., Weyburn Oilwomen Association and Viterra Inc. The Credit Union Spark Centre has also received joint funding from the Government of Canada and Government of Saskatchewan towards several out-of-contract amenities.
