One new COVID-19 case in South East Zone 4, which includes Estevan

ESTEVAN - There is one new case of COVID-19 to report in South East Zone 4, which includes Estevan, according to the Saskatchewan Health Authority’s (SHA) dashboard.

That brings the total number of cases in Zone 4 to seven, the highest number since early June. 

One case was added to the Zone 4 total on Saturday, although the SHA did not specify why that occurred, if it was a case with a pending residence, or if it was a case that was reassigned to the South East from another region or province.

There were five new COVID cases in the South East region on Aug. 1. The other four were in South East Zone 2, which is north of Zone 4. Zone 2 has seen an increase in cases recently, and now has 19 active cases.

There were 43 new cases to report on Sunday, bringing the total number of COVID cases to 50,067.

No new deaths were reported in Saskatchewan.

Another 26 people have recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries to 48,993.

There are 496 cases that are considered active, including 33 in the South East.

Forty-eight people are in hospital, including one person receiving in-patient care in the South East.

There were 1,164 tests processed in Saskatchewan on July 31, including 67 in the South East.

Another 4,099 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered, including 214 in the South East region.
