INDIAN HEAD — A 50-year-old woman from Ontario was killed Monday in a collision of two semis on Highway 1, approximately five kilometres west of Indian Head.

Indian Head RCMP received the report of the motor vehicle collision on Feb. 6, at approximately 7:45 p.m.,

RCMP say their initial investigation determined a westbound semi rolled onto the centre median of the highway. An eastbound semi then collided with it.

The adult female driver and sole occupant of the westbound semi was declared deceased by EMS at the scene.

The driver of the eastbound semi was transported to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

Highway 1 will be reduced to one lane in the area of the collision as debris clean-up continues. It’s estimated all lanes will re-open later Tuesday.

Indian Head RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
