Pangman Care Home to host first backyard BBQ

Pangman (cpd) - The Deep South Personal Care Home will hold their first annual Backyard Barbecue on Sunday, Sept. 11 with opening presentations at 4 p.m. Supper will start at 5 p.m.



Pangman (cpd) - The Deep South Personal Care Home will hold their first annual Backyard Barbecue on Sunday, Sept. 11 with opening presentations at 4 p.m. Supper will start at 5 p.m. with pork back ribs, chicken, roasted potatoes, homemade buns, salad and homemade pies. Tickets are $12 each.

There will be a silent auction, door prizes and entertainment. It is also an opportunity to celebrate the 13th anniversary of the Home, and help raise extra funds. Tickets are available at the Home, board staff or care home staff. For take-out orders to the field, or other places, please contact the home.

Visiting with Debbie and Tom Kessler and Stewart on Aug. 25 was Debbie's brother Joe and Darlene Nast from Tugaski, and their daughter Jennifer Boudreault and granddaughter Allison from Rossburn, Man.

Visiting with Robin Larson, Drayon and Ocean on Aug. 28 was Barry and Bev Imberre from Claybank.

Debbie Kessler returned as activity director at Sunnyview Place on Aug. 29. Brea Nyhus from Ceylon was the director during July and August.

Seven residents at Sunnyview Place played their weekly five-pin bowling on Aug. 31, playing eight frames. This was a ladies tournament, with Ada Murray placing first with a score of 97 points.

The Ladies Auxiliary meeting will be held on Monday, Sept. 12 at the Deep South Personal Care Home, starting at 9:30 a.m. in the staff room. There will be nominations for the board, and it is free to join. Discussion will be held for the Christmas items needed for the residents.

Visiting with Helen Clark at Sunnyview Place on Aug. 23 was her great-granddaughter Shandrea Verdroom from Minnedosa, Man. Shandrea stopped in to visit before she left for a three-month stay in Africa, where she will be volunteering at an orphanage.
