Regina police charge one male involved in east side homicide

Regina police have arrested one individual involved in a homicide on Nov. 14, but say investigation is continuing.

REGINA — Regina police have laid charges in one of the city’s recent murders, after investigation led to a 31-year-old man from Regina.

Police from the forensic identification and major crimes units were joined in the investigation by the Saskatchewan Coroners Service after a call to the 2100 block of Heseltine Road for a report of a death on nov. 14.

The victim was identified as Ahi Ebrotie, 29, of Regina on Nov. 16, when the investigation was deemed a homicide.

After speaking to potential witnesses and further investigation, police have now arrested Abdimalik Dahir Mohammed in relation to the incident.

Mohammad is facing charges of second degree murder and breach of a release order.

He will make his first provincial court appearance on these charges this morning.

Police said that investigation into this matter is also still ongoing.
