Angie VanCuren, assistant events coordinator for the Southeast Unit of the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) said that three teams made the CCS Fundraising Club this year. The Daffodil Divas raised $15,181, earning a gold membership; Kim's Knoxsters, a team comprised of high school students, raised $8,613, earning a silver membership; and Weyburn Credit Union's team, Kiss Cancer Goodbye, raised $7,180, earning a bronze membership."All teams did very well with their fundraising efforts," said VanCuren. "There are still funds coming in so, I imagine, we will get over the $100,000 mark."VanCuren said the reason Weyburn's 2010 Relay did not raise as much as 2009 is partially due to the fact that a few of their high-earning teams from 2009 did not participate this year. The 2009 Relay raised about $161,000.It took over 150 volunteers to make this year's 12-hour event at River Park run smoothly on June 4 and 5.
