WEYBURN – A total of 17 Southeast College students were presented with 30 scholarships and bursaries worth $28,600 on Friday, at the graduation ceremonies for the Weyburn campus, held at McKenna Hall.
“We are incredibly proud of our students and everything they have achieved and continue to work towards,” said Kassandra Lawrenz, manager of College Advancement. “The graduation and awards ceremony a great opportunity not only to celebrate with our students, but to also recognize and express our most sincere gratitude to the outstanding support we receive from the community and our partners.”
Southeast College scholarships and bursaries are made possible by donations from community organizations, businesses and individuals, as well as various fundraising events such as the College’s Swing for Scholarships Golf Tournaments. Eligible funds are matched by the Ministry of Advanced Education through the Saskatchewan Innovation and Opportunity Scholarship (SIOS) program.
The scholarships and bursaries were presented as follows.

Weyburn Credit Union C.H.Chuck Hodgson Scholarship: Kennedy Herlick – Practical Nurse.
Prairie Sky Co-op Association Scholarship: Jaylee Paterson - Continuing Care Aide; Cassidy Sinclair – Practical Nurse; Julie-Anne Vogel – Hairstylist.
