Update: Missing swimmer at Last Mountain Lake found deceased

Saskatchewan RCMP’s Underwater Recovery Team assisted in the search Tuesday.

LAST MOUNTAIN LAKE — A missing swimmer, a 71-year-old male from Regina, has been located deceased in the water of Last Mountain Lake near where he was last seen.

RCMP say his family has been notified and their thoughts are with them during this difficult time.

On Aug. 8 at approximately 4:45 p.m., Southey RCMP received a report of a swimmer in distress in the water at Pelican Pointe.

Lumsden RCMP, Southey RCMP, STARS, local fire and rescue personnel, and civilian boaters attended the scene. The adult male swimmer was not immediately located. Search efforts continued today with the additional assistance of Saskatchewan RCMP’s Underwater Recovery Team.
