Carlyle RCMP received 54 calls between Sept. 16 and 22. Here's how the calls lined up in the police files at the detachment. Remember we do not report incidents relating to child welfare, those of a sexual nature, or incidents covered by the mental health act.

A report of mischief was investigated at Redvers. The gas cap had been removed from the complainant's vehicle. Allegedly a number of such incidents have taken place in Redvers recently, and most situations have simply not been reported. It was unknown if gas had also been taken from the tank.

The detachment received a 911 call relating to a house fire north of Carlyle. The fire department attended, but the house virtually burned to the ground. There were no injuries to persons, and the apparent cause was a faulty pipe to a wood burning stove.

A complaint of harassing phone calls was received from a residence in Redvers. The caller only wished to report the incident for information purposes.

A single vehicle collision was investigated, and a 26-year-old female was charged with failure to report an accident. The driver had fallen asleep at the wheel and her car ended up under water in a ditch. She was uninjured.

Three different complaints were received with regard to a suspicious person in Carlyle.

The driver of a truck complained that something had been thrown from a passing car. When he made the call, he was speeding in order to catch the offending vehicle. Police suggested that he stick to the speed limit, but after they made patrols, they were unable to locate the vehicle.

A 56-year-old male, with prior court instructions to abstain from alcohol, was reported for disturbing the peace at a hotel.

Police investigated a two-vehicle-collision on highway 9. There were no injuries and both vehicles were driveable.

Damage was reported to the Sarcan building in Redvers, where a rock was thrown through a window. There were no witnesses and no further damage. The case is closed.

A 911 call from the area was received regarding a suspicious person. Police attended the scene, but the person had left.

A driver near Redvers, reported a gray Mustang and a red Cobolt were racing at 160 km/hr and doing "suicide passes." Members did not locate the vehicles, and no license plates were given to enable follow up.

A false alarm was reported at a residence in Manor.

A business in Wawota reported receiving strange phone calls from a person who was trying to sell furniture to them. Recordings were made of the calls, and police were informed for informational purposes.

A domestic situation was investigated in Wawota.

Members attended an argument between a male and a female in the area. The matter was settled peacefully.

A flatbed trailer was reported as stolen from a construction site on highway 13 near Arcola. Investigations continue.

A false alarm was attended at the Wawota Parkland School.

An intoxicated male was removed by members from a property in the area.

Members were requested to remove unwanted persons from a house in the area. Upon their arrival, the subjects had gone.

A false alarm was investigated at Redvers Activity Centre.

Members of the detachment were involved in investigating a case of serial auto theft. A call was received from Antler, reporting the theft of a Ford F-350, and another vehicle that had been stolen in Manitoba was found in Antler. The Ford truck was later found in Indian Head. No information was immediately available as to whether a third vehicle had then been stolen from that area.

A 911 call was received from Arcola. An argument in progress was heard in the background, and members were sent to investigate. Upon arrival, a person was seen peeking through the windows of the residence, but they refused to open the locked door. Members then forced the door open, and found a female in the residence. She explained a fight had broken out between her and her sister, and items had been thrown inside the residence. The sister returned and was arrested for mischief.

A request was received from Manitoba police. They asked local members to be on the lookout for a US-registered truck that had run the border crossing and was now driving north at high speed. The vehicle was not located.

A routine traffic stop near Arcola, revealed the 19-year-old male was driving without a license. He was fined $150 and the vehicle was towed.

A caller complained of two semi trucks driving dangerously on highway 13. Members patrolled, but the trucks were not located.

A fight was reported as in progress between five individuals at a liquor store in Carlyle. On investigation, police found that one person had tried to take property from another person. The scuffle took place as others tried to push the perpetrator away. No charges were laid and the matter was concluded.

An individual called into the detachment to report the loss of his passport.

Several calls were received regarding a vehicle that was being driven erratically, south of Carlyle. Members located the vehicle and found a 72-year-old male showing signs of a medical emergency. The man was taken to hospital.

A vehicle was reported as missing from a business where it had been repaired. Investigations continue.

A break and enter is under investigation north of Carlyle.

A case of mischief was reported from a drilling site in the Redvers area. A dozer was taken for a joyride by unknown persons, and damage to the value of $20,000 resulted. The matter is under investigation.

A vehicle hit a cow and a report was made for insurance purposes.

An intoxicated male was taken into custody, following a complaint from a drinking establishment in Redvers.

A Wawota resident complained of misuse of their credit card by a site on the internet. Investigations are in progress.
