Seventy calls kept members of the Carlyle RCMP detachment busy last week.
-A report was given of two youths missing from a Kenosee campground. Members had begun patrolling the area, when a second call advised the safe return of the young people.
-A disturbance was reported at a facility near Kenosee. Members attended and spoke with an individual who was warned about their behaviour. No charges were laid.
- A speeding vehicle was reported as heading westbound on highway 13. Members did not locate the suspect, but relayed the information to Weyburn police for them to keep an eye out for the car.
-Members attended a vehicle fire in Manor. The owner had heard a popping noise, and an electrical fire consumed the vehicle. There were no injuries, and no suspicious circumstances. Carlyle fire department attended.
-A caller reported an individual driving an unregistered vehicle. No plate number was given in the description and police did not find the vehicle.
-A vehicle was stopped after reportedly swaying all over the road. Alcohol was not a factor, but members advised the driver about being aware of the loading limitations of their vehicle.
-A request was received to remove an allegedly intoxicated person from a residence in the area. Members attended but took no action as the individual was drinking in the privacy of their own home.
-A 911 open line call was received and the dispatcher reported hearing shouting in the background as well as objects being smashed. Members traced the location and attended. Alcohol was a factor, but no charges were laid.
-A 35-year-old male was arrested after showing signs of intoxication while walking down a road in Carlyle. He was charged with intoxication in a public place and fined $200.
-Members assisted Regina police by arresting a 23-year-old male who was wanted by them.
-A 41-year-old man was arrested for driving while impaired. He was charged on this offence plus driving over .08, and driving while disqualified.
-A 911 caller reported a fight between two males on the beach at Moose Mountain Provincial Park. Members attended, found the men to be intoxicated, and turned them over to their companions care.
-Police are investigating the theft of fireworks from a business in Carlyle.
-Medical attention was required, following a 911 call reporting an assault in the area. Members attended and the suspect had left the scene. The victim was taken to Arcola hospital by Wawota EMS. Investigations continue into this incident.
-A fire resulted from a suspected lightning strike at an old farmhouse to the south east of Carlyle.
-Members attended the scene of a fight in a street in Carlyle. There were no serious injuries.
-A truck rolled onto its side on a service road at Manor. The driver was referring to a GPS unit at the time, no charges were laid.
-A fight sent one woman to hospital in Arcola, and another to cells in Carlyle. No charges are being laid in this incident.
-Police were called to the scene of a fight at a residence in the area. There were no serious injuries and no charges were laid.
-The Public Health Inspector from Weyburn, called the Carlyle detachment with regard to a vicious dog in the area. The matter is being investigated.
-A 10-year-old called 911 and reported seeing smoke. It turned out to be the burning of garbage.
-A tractor was appropriated and wrecked, along with other farm equipment, near Redvers. Police investigations continue.
-A caller reported that an intoxicated female was causing problems in the area. The person had left by the time police arrived.
-A caller told police they had just seen their friend's stolen truck being driven towards Whitewood. Police did not locate the vehicle but informed the Kipling detachment to be on the lookout for it.
-A grass fire was reported to members, and then controlled by the Carlyle fire department, after the hot exhaust of a pickup truck touched the grass and ignited it. The pickup was also damaged in the blaze. No charges were laid.
-A 46-year old male was charged with driving over the limit of .08, and also driving while impaired to the east of Carlyle.
-Local police assisted Revenue Canada by issuing a summons to two individuals to appear in court in Estevan.
-A vehicle owner reported the loss of their licence plate near Redvers. If anyone finds plate number PDT 365, they are asked to call Carlyle police. Police also remind the public that this plate may not be used by anyone other than the person to whom it is issued.
-A local person was arrested for breaching conditions regarding alcohol.
-A hit and run was reported in Carlyle and a report was issued for insurance purposes.
-A caller reported mischief to their vehicle, when unknown persons filled the gas tank with rice, and also painted obscenities on the vehicle.
-A complaint was received regarding the use of an off road vehicle on town streets in Arcola.
-A caller reported the attempted theft of a quad.
-A business reported the theft of a can of gasoline. The persons involved were spoken to by police and they returned the gasoline and apologized. Charges were not laid by the business.
-Police are investigating the case of a missing bank deposit bag, from a business in Carlyle.
-The complaint of an unwanted person in a residence, led to the arrest of a 25-year-old male that was wanted on charges by Yorkton police.
-A warrant was issued to an individual in the area for violating parole. The person has now been arrested to continue serving a sentence.
-The complaint of a fight resulted in two individuals being arrested and lodged in cells overnight.
-Moose Jaw police contacted the Carlyle detachment, asking them to serve a summons to two individuals for unpaid parking tickets.
-Members attended an accident where a person had fallen off their ATV. No charges were laid.
-An individual complained to police about receiving harassing phone calls. The person had traced the calls through Sasktel and was now reporting the caller to the RCMP.
-The driver of a semi was spoken to by members, following a complaint that they were not following the posted truck routes in Carlyle. No charges were laid.
-An eight-year-old boy was taken back home by members, after deciding to cycle along a busy highway to Carlyle library from another local town.
