The Weyburn Police Service received 79 calls for service during the week of June 21 through the 27, resulting in 18 charges being laid under the Criminal Code of Canada, as well as 10 traffic-related charges. The majority of the Criminal Code charges involve individuals failing to comply with a condition of their release.

Two individuals face charges of mischief, theft, and break-and-enter, after officers responded to a reported crime in-progress at the Weyburn Heritage Village. Officers located and arrested both individuals and released them with an upcoming court date.

An adult male faces several charges following a domestic dispute. Officers responded to a local residence and took the male into custody without incident. The male, who was also released with an upcoming court date, faces two charges of assault and three charges of failing to comply with conditions of his release.

The Weyburn Police Service reminds everyone that, although the Weyburn Courthouse is slowly phasing in a return to normal, only trial matters are being held in-person at this time. All other court matters will remain as “appearing by phone”. Further information is available online at www.sasklawcourts.ca
