Weyburn's CU Spark Centre to offer special programs in December

WEYBURN – The Credit Union Spark Centre will open up programs to run from January to March, with special programs offered in December for families.

Registration for rec and arts programs at the Leisure Centre will open on Monday, Dec. 13, and for the Spark Centre on Tuesday, Dec. 14.

A special Skate with Santa will be held on Sunday, Dec. 5 at the Tom Zandee Sports Centre from 2:45 to 4:45 p.m.

Just prior to Christmas, an art camp will be held the week of Dec. 20-23 for children aged six to 11 years, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

The same week an active camp for those aged five to 11, teaching physical literacy, will be held, also from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

Some specific clay programs set just before Christmas include a family clay ornaments class on Saturday, Dec. 11 from 1-3 p.m., where a child and adult can take part in the class together.

There will also be a class for families to make clay ornaments on Friday, Dec. 17 from 6-8 p.m. for all those aged 14 and up, and a clay class to teach those 16 and up how to make a clay mug on Thursday, Dec. 16 from 6-8 p.m.

The James Weir People’s Choice art exhibit will open on Jan. 5, and the Weyburn Art Gallery will have its grand opening on Tuesday, Jan. 7 at 7 p.m.
