The team with the lowest score at the Manor & RM 63 Golf Tournament was: (l to r) Bradey Fidierchuk, Dylan Lachapelle, Dakota Rose and Gerhard Groenewald.

Manor Fire Department held a four person best ball golf tournament on Saturday, Aug. 28 with 15 teams entering for a total of 60 golfers.

Golfers enjoyed the beautiful afternoon playing on the Carlyle Golf Course.

Approximately $3,000 was raised with funds going toward outfitting the department’s new wildland truck that they purchased last month.

Although the tournament was really all about having fun, the foursome of Bradey Fidierchuk, Dylan Lachapelle, Dakota Rose and Gerhard Groenewald did come in with the lowest score of the day and got to claim the title of champions.

There was no grand prize given out but every golfer won a door prize.

“We had lots of support from all the businesses in the surrounding communities,” says Brayden Rowley, Fire Chief with the Manor Fire Department. “They’ve all been really good to us.”

The tournament consisted of many different individual fun games on some of the holes.

The Manor Fire Department boasts 26 volunteer firefighters to which Rowley says “It’s awesome!”

The Fire Department has been ongoing replacing the firefighter’s equipment and get up to date with their turnout gear.

“That’s something that we’ve been working at for the past two years,” explains Rowley.

“We’re slowly adding new equipment to our hall as well.”

The department’s next goal would be to purchase a portable water tank.

“We’ve been very fortunate the past few years to tick off a lot of equipment from our priority list,” says Rowley and adds “It’s been going good!”
