Red Wings drop home games against the Ice Wolves and Bombers.

WEYBURN - The Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings are now third place in the Viterra Division of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League, after dropping home games against the La Ronge Ice Wolves and the Flin Flon Bombers.

The La Ronge Ice Wolves were at Crescent Point Place on Friday night, where they claimed a 4-3 victory in overtime over the Red Wings.

In the first period, Walker Jerome scored during a power play for the Ice Wolves, assisted by Brandon Della Paolera and Parker Layton. Davis Chorney scored at the 13:02 marker for the Red Wings, assisted by Drew Kuzma.

Then in the second period, Conrad Mitchell scored for the Ice Wolves, assisted by Aaron Greyeyes and Lane Snell. In the third period, Nikolas Sombrowski scored at the 6:14 marker for the Red Wings, assisted by Ian Maier and Dazza Mitchell. Walker Jerome scored the third goal of the night for La Ronge at the 14:51 mark, assisted by Holden Knights. A late goal by Niolas Sombrowski for the Red Wings at the 18:41 mark, assisted by Braden Birnie and Beji Rutkai, tied up the game.

In the overtime period, a goal by Ryley Morgan secured the win for La Ronge, scored off assists by Gavin Mattey and Bryan Gilman.

Xavier Cannon was in net for La Ronge, and stopped 30 out of 33 attempts on net.

Dazza Mitchell was in net for the Red Wings, and he stopped 22 out of 26 attempts.

The Flin Flon Bombers were at Crescent Point Place on Saturday night, and they claimed a 6-4 victory over the Red Wings.

In the first period, Zak Smith scored the first goal of the night for the Bombers, assisted by Jaxon Martens and Jeremi Tremblay. Later in the period, Benji Rutkai scored the first goal of the night for the Red Wings, assisted by Drew Kuzma.

The Bombers dominated the second period with three goals. Cole Duperreault scored the first of these goals, assisted by Brett Wieschorster and Gabriel Shipper. This was followed by a goal by Jaxon Martens, assisted by Cole Vardy and Zak Smith. Finally, Cole Duperreault scored a goal into the net, assisted by Jeremi Tremblay and Jaxon Martens.

Both teams traded goals in the third period. Jaxon Martens scored for the Bombers at the 3:18 mark, assisted by Xavier Lapointe and Cole Vardy. Jackson Hassman scored for the Red Wings a minute later, assisted by Benji Rutkai.

Dante Ballarin scored a goal for Weyburn later in the game at the 17:27 mark, assisted by Graham Skinner. The Red Wings attempted extra manpower by pulling their goaltender, but Jeremi Trembly scored into the empty net for the Bombers, assisted by Brett Wieschorster. Nikolas Sombrowski scored a late goal for Weyburn at the 19:06 mark, unassisted.

Cal Schell was in net for Flin Flon, and stopped 25 out of 29 attempts. Joseph Young was in net for Weyburn and stopped 35 out of 40 attempts.

The Red Wings will be on the road this upcoming weekend. They will be in Melfort to face the Mustangs on Friday, October 29. Then they travel to Humboldt to face up against the Broncos on Saturday, October 30.
