Silver Seals to host the Sask. Summer Swimming Provincials

The Weyburn Silver Seals hosted a 2019 Invitational Swim Meet at the Weyburn Leisure Centre.

WEYBURN - The Weyburn Silver Seals will be hosting over 200 athletes from around the province to compete in the Saskatchewan Summer Swimming Provincials.  This competition will be hosted at the outdoor pool at the Weyburn Leisure Centre on Saturday, July 23 and Sunday, July 24.

There will be 19 Weyburn Silver Seals athletes competing: Charlie Ashworth, Payton Caldwell, Jacob Gill, Hayleigh Hovanak, Marley Kradovill, Tamberly Kreger, Bentley McKinney, Avryelle Molnar, Dalton Molnar, Daisy Popescu, Lily Popescu, Antonius Quist, Brenna Torkelson, Shay Warren, Zane Warren, Cody Wig and Topher Wilkinson.

The Weyburn Silver Seals will have Olympic Medalist Chantal Van Landeghem doing a Swim Camp for the swim club on Friday, July 22 with in-pool sessions and then a classroom session sharing her story and focusing on managing nerves and mindfulness.  Chantal will also be their keynote speaker at their banquet, sponsored by Valleyview Petroleum.

Provincials are a big undertaking, especially after having restricted practice and no competitions for two years. The board and families of the Weyburn Silver Seals have worked hard to ensure that they give the athletes a great finish to the season.
