ASSINIBOIA - The Richardson Pioneer Southern Rebels have completed their roster with some familiar faces returning and new players added to the roster.
The 2022-2023 Junior B hockey season is officially here and excited to move into the newly built Southland Co-op Centre.
The first exhibition games for the Rebels was held against the Regina Capitals and Silver Foxes at the Fort Qu’Appelle Rexentre on Sept. 24.
The Rebels are currently looking for billet families to provide a home for athletes who are new to town. The host parents supply meals, a bedroom and a friendly home atmosphere in return for $450 per month. Billeting is a very rewarding experience and is pivotal for the success of the team and the players both on and off the ice. Spots are filling up quickly for the annual Hockey School for players aged five to U15. Camp will be October 1 and 2 at the new Southland Co-opCentre. Cost is $70. Email southernrebelshockey@outlook.com to register or for more information.
The home opener for the Southern Rebels will be against Carrot River Thunder on Saturday, October 15 at the new Southland Co-op Centre at 7:30 p.m. The venue is fully licensed and the concession has a full menu so come down for supper, a drink, and cheer on the boys. Let’s pack the rink.
