Blanche 'Alma' Ambrose passed away on December 22, 2011 at the Twilight Home in Bengough at the age of 91 years. She was predeceased by parents, William and Gertrude Ambrose; sister, Grace; brother, Arthur; sister, Gertrude Forseth and brothers-in-law Emil Forseth and Mike Rosenzwieg. Alma is survived by her sister Edith Rosenzwieg of Bengough, nephew Mervin Forseth (Viola) of Bengough, nephew Michael Rosenzweig of Bengough, and many great nieces and nephews. Alma was born on the homestead in Hardy on June 8, 1920. She attended school at Green Lake, a country school, 3 miles from her home and later at the Desmond country school. She loved nature, the outdoors and animals. Her favourite hobby was writing poetry and short stories, several being published in various publications. Alma lived on the farm for 64 years and spent the last 12 of her years in Bengough. She lived for 15 years in Hardy, at which time she and her sister Gertie moved to Bengough. In July of 2011 Alma took up residence in the Bengough senior's residence. She will be dearly missed. A graveside service was held for Alma at the Bengough Cemetery, Bengough on Friday, December 30 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor George Barker officiating.
