Marie Louise Nimegeers was born to Maurice and Rosalie (nee Gronenschild) Craeyveldt on September 10, 1920 in Shergrove, Manitoba and passed away peacefully on December 26, 2011. Marie and her husband, George, lived on a farm near Halbrite for 40 years. Together they raised eleven children while farming only three quarters of land. Marie had many interests which included gardening and canning, she also loved quilting, crocheting and collecting stamps. Many of the stamps she collected were on the envelopes of the many penpals she corresponded with over a period of forty plus years. Marie was also an active member of the Catholic Women's League since 1943. She was also involved with the Halbrite Homemakers for many years. Marie's greatest love was her family - children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her great great grandchild were everything to her. Marie was predeceased by her husband, George; sister, Juliette; parents, Maurice and Rosalie Craeyveldt; sons, Jim and Maurice; grandson, John; sons-in-law, Al and Larry and brothers-in-law, Marshall and John. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: George (Lorraine) Nimegeers, Fredricton, NB; Shirley (Max) Wiedemann, Calgary, AB; Joan (Wayne) Casler, Sherwood Park, AB; Eunice Langille, Redcliff, AB; Marlene (Dennis) Wanner, Weyburn; Patsy (Joe) Thiel, Redcliff, AB; Glen (Vona) Nimegeers, Midale; Linda (Peter) McCann, Salmon Arm, BC and Connie Johnson (Bob), Weyburn; 19 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild; sisters, Yvonne and Rose DeBruyne of Radville as well as many nieces and nephews. Prayers for Marie were said on Wednesday, December 28 at 7:00 PM at Fletcher Funeral Chapel, Weyburn. A funeral mass for Marie was celebrated on Thursday, December 29 at 10:30 AM from St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church with Father Gerry Bauche celebrating. Active Pallbearers were, Tyler Wanner, Darren Langille, Steven Langille, Maurice Gendron, Taylor Biro and Kurt Wiedemann. Interment followed at Halbrite Cemetery, Halbrite.
