Mary Jane Elizabeth Terry passed away suddenly in her home in Okanagan Falls, BC on November 10, 2011 at the age of 65 years. She was born in Regina on July 16, 1946 to John Henry and Gwyneth (nee Baker) Downs.


Mary Jane Elizabeth Terry passed away suddenly in her home in Okanagan Falls, BC on November 10, 2011 at the age of 65 years. She was born in Regina on July 16, 1946 to John Henry and Gwyneth (nee Baker) Downs. Mary Jane will be fondly remembered by her brothers-in-law Eldon and Bob (Val) Terry and their families, her maternal counsins Lynda Dupree, Mary Gehon, and John Cain and their families, as well as numerous other family members, co-workers, friends and acquaintances. She is sorely missed by her beloved dog Amigo. She attended and graduated both elementary and high school in Yellow Grass. In May 1969 she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Saskatchewan and in 1982 her Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Regina. In September 1969 Mary Jane began her Social Work career in Prince Albert with the Government of Saskatchewan. In 1983 she accepted a position in Penticton with the Government of British Columbia. Mary Jane's last working day before retirement was scheduled for November 25, 2011. Mary Jane was predeceased in death by her husband, infant son, parents and in-laws. At her request, no formal funeral service will be held. Memorial donations in memory of Mary Jane can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, CCTC (Canadian Council for Tobacco Control), or any other charity of your choice.
