A challenge in Canada, for both those in government and for her citizens, is to keep and maintain and use her democratic rights and freedoms, and not waste them or take them for granted.

The Telus Walk to Cure Diabetes for Weyburn will take place on Sunday, Nov. 13, starting at the City Centre Mall. This event raises funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Registration starts at noon, and the walk begins at 1 p.m.

Cenovus Energy reported a strong third quarter overall, and their Weyburn operations showed a return to consistent production levels after having production hurt by flooding earlier in the year.

Weyburn is asking residents to pledge to take action in the In Motion Community Pledge Challenge. The challenge is offering one Saskatchewan community the chance to win $10,000 for a community project that helps children move and be active.

This past Saturday brought an end to CFL football for 2011 in the house that Ronnie and George built, Mosaic Stadium. The Riders played spoiler and came away with a 19-3 victory over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the final home game for Green and White.
