CARLYLE — The Carlyle RCMP is investigating several recent reports of break-and-enter-and-theft incidents to oilfield sites in the Redvers and Manor areas.

In an email to SaskToday, Carlyle RCMP Staff Sgt. Alex Hutt said over the past four weeks, the detachment has responded to a notable increase in break-ins targeting oilfield worksites throughout the area. These incidents are under active investigation.

While the RCMP cannot release specific details at this time, it says it can confirm a range of equipment and materials have been stolen, and that these thefts are having a serious impact on operations and safety at the affected sites.

"Our officers are working closely with site operators, industry partners and community members to identify those responsible and prevent further incidents. We’ve increased patrols in key areas and are encouraging site managers to take steps to enhance security, including improved lighting, surveillance systems and more secure storage practices."

The RCMP is asking the public to contact the Carlyle RCMP at 306-453-6707 with any information relating to these incidents, the RCMP said in a post on the Saskatchewan Crime Watch Advisory Network.

If you have information related to this advisory please call 310-RCMP for immediate response, or you can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
