ESTEVAN — The matter of Evan Dennis Isbister was back in Estevan Provincial Court on Aug. 12.
Isbister is charged with second-degree murder in the death of his father Todd Isbister. Evan Isbister will make his next appearance Aug. 18.
He was released from custody with conditions in late June, following a bail hearing in Court of King's Bench.
Background: In a news release, the Estevan Police Service said that at approximately 8:46 p.m. on May 10, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1400-block of First Street. The caller reported an assault was taking place.
When the EPS arrived, they said officers located three men in the residence. The EPS said two were arrested without incident and taken to the police station. Estevan EMS responded to the scene to care for the victim and transported him to St. Joseph’s Hospital for treatment. He died from his injuries a short time later.
According to the EPS, one of the arrested men was cleared of any wrongdoing and was subsequently released from custody. The other man arrested was Evan Isbister.
