Update: Carlyle RCMP report man wanted for assault was arrested

Carlyle RCMP said that Darias Obey, 21, wanted for aggravated assault after an incident on White Bear First Nation was arrested July 6 by Regina police.

Update: 

Darias Obey was arrested by Regina Police Service on July 6, said Carlyle RCMP in a media release, and appeared in Regina Provincial Court on July 7. Obey was released with conditions and will appear in Carlyle Provincial Court on July 16. No further information was immediately available.

CARLYLE — Carlyle RCMP are asking the public to report any sightings of 21-year-old Darias Obey, who is wanted for aggravated assault following an incident on White Bear First Nations.

Around 5:30 a.m. on June 28, RCMP responded to a report of an injured man who had walked to a residence on the First Nation seeking help. Investigators believe he was the victim of a serious assault. He was transported to hospital with what police described as serious injuries. No further update on his condition has been provided.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, Obey, a resident of White Bear First Nations, has been charged with one count of aggravated assault under the Criminal Code. A warrant has been issued for his arrest, and police are actively working to locate him.

Obey is described as approximately six-foot-four and 210 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

A photo of the accused has not yet been released.

The RCMP advise the public not to approach Obey if he is seen. Instead, contact Carlyle RCMP by dialling 310-RCMP.
