ESTEVAN — The City of Estevan has issued an update on the downtown revitalization project ongoing on Fourth Street.

"This initiative continues to enhance the downtown core with improvements to roads, sidewalks, drainage and streetscaping," the city said in a news release. "The updated timeline reflects the latest construction phases planned for the remainder of 2025, with efforts made to minimize disruption while keeping progress on track."

Channel drains and finishing work are taking place in the 1100 block of Fourth Street. The work is slated to wrap up on May 19.

From May 26-June 24, "full construction" will happen for the north side of the 1200-block from the Orpheum Theatre to Gerry's Freezer Meats, and it will happen from Gerry's Freezer Meats to the BMO Bank of Montreal branch from June 2-July 2.

There will be full construction on the south side of the 1200-block of Fourth Street from RBC to the midway point from July 2-30, and from the midpoint to the intersection with 13th Avenue from July 31-Aug. 28.

There is also work for both sides of the 1300-block of Fourth Street from Sept. 8-Oct. 6.

Streetscaping will take place with bollards and trees from Sept. 8 to Oct. 6, and final paving and finishing for the entire project area will happen from Oct. 7-15.

"The City of Estevan thanks everyone for their continued patience and support as we work with our contactors to ensure timely results and continued progress for the community," the city said in a news release.
