OXBOW — Tanner Jeannot is on the move to the Boston Bruins.

Jeannot, who hails from Oxbow and spent several years in the Estevan Minor Hockey Association, signed a five-year, $17 million contract with Boston Tuesday – the opening day of the NHL's free-agent signing period. His contract will carry an annual hit of $3.4 million against the NHL's salary cap.

Jeannot has played parts of five seasons in the NHL. He spent last season with the Los Angeles Kings, recording seven goals and six assists for 13 points in 67 games. He also had 89 penalty minutes.

Jeannot has recorded 49 goals and 44 assists for 93 points, and has added 403 penalty minutes in 294 career NHL games.

He has also played for the Nashville Predators and the Tampa Bay Lightning in the NHL.

Jeannot is not the only Estevan Minor Hockey Association alumnist in the Bruins organization. Defenceman Max Wanner finished the 2024-25 season with Boston's American Hockey League affiliate in Providence after he was dealt to the Bruins at the NHL's trade deadline in March as part of a three-team trade that sent Trent Frederic to the Edmonton Oilers. Wanner was drafted by Edmonton in 2021.
