Photos: Lampman celebrated this year's graduating class

Eight students were part of this year's graduating class.

LAMPMAN — Graduating from Grade 12 is a big step in a student’s life, and it happened June 14 for eight students at Lampman School.

Festivities started with formal photos taken at the Lampman Golf Course by Wanda Harron. When the graduates reached the school for the cap-and-gown ceremony, MC Cori Howe took the stage and welcomed family and friends to the celebration.

Tammy Siebert and Kimberly Veroba introduced each student, who was escorted into the gymnasium and then took their place on the stage.

A tribute to the parents was given by Tempel Johnson, andEric Johnson gave the reply.

Adam Fleck did the tribute to the teachers for all their dedication over the years, while Kathleen Schroader responded with her thank you to the students.

Guest speaker Annmarie Rosner was introduced by Brendon Lischka.

Jamie Johnson delivered her speech as the valedictorian, and Tempel Johnson presented the slide show featuring all of the students.

Cori Howe and Dawn Willock presented the graduating class with their diplomas.

The graduating class is Jamie Johnson, Jeremy Helm, Conrad Hase, Adam Fleck, Kadin Brokop, Kole Johnson, Tempel Johnson and Brendon Lischka. The procession of students and their escorts left the gymnasium but returned to have a first dance with their escorts and a second dance with their parents.

Instead of a banquet, the graduating class went to the far end of Main Street for the parade. They picked up their escorts and walked back to Main Street.

From there, they hopped on a flat deck trailer, went to the Lampman Community Health Centre, paraded for the residents and then returned to the school.

On June 16 at Lampman School, awards and scholarships were presented. It was also a time for the students to say farewell to vice-principal Dawn Willcock.

A mural of photo memories was made by the Grade 12 class and placed at the entrance. It is relocatable and will be used for years to come.
