The weather during the latter part of summer allowed provincial signage and painting crews to remain busy throughout
the province.
The Saskatchewan government said $3 million was invested in painting lines on provincial highways this summer, the equivalent of painting a line around the moon, almost three times.
The sign and paintwork that was completed by mid-September included 30,000 kms of edge and centerlines painted and 21,000 pavement signs repainted and 5,000 more signs installed or
replaced.
New construction heading into the second half of the month included the painting of sections of Highway 1 near Grenfell and Highway 16 near North Battleford.
Travel information regarding emergency road closures, status of ferries, barges and other road activities are found on the Highway Hotline.
Drivers have been reminded to observe posted speed limits in construction zones and to slow to 60 km/hr when passing highway workers and equipment.
