The Weyburn Police Service received a report of a vehicle colliding with a convenience store building on Saturday. Damage was extensive to both the vehicle and the building. There were no injuries. The matter is still under investigation.
• The Weyburn police received a call of a two-vehicle collision on First Avenue NE and Government Road at about 5:50 p.m. on Thursday. A vehicle driven by a 17-year-old male was travelling west on First Avenue and attempted to make a left turn, colliding with a vehicle being driven by a 32-year-old female. One vehicle had to be towed from the scene. The 17-year-old driver was charged with failing to yield to oncoming traffic.
• Weyburn police received a report of identity theft at about 12:20 p.m. on Friday. The victim’s identity was compromised and the person responsible was able to make changes to the personal information on the credit card account. While these types of offences are extremely difficult to prevent, police urge people to always know the correct charges on their credit cards so that fraudulent transactions can be caught as quickly as possible.
• Weyburn police received a report that an assault had happened outside a bar at about 2:45 a.m. on Saturday. The victim was unable to provide any type of details, and there were no witnesses. The matter is still under investigation.
• City police received a report of a domestic assault that had occurred on Wednesday. The suspect was located and arrested. A 27-year-old male has been charged with assault and will be making a court appearance.
• City police received a report of a domestic assault between a 38-year-old male and a 26-year-old female at about 11:15 p.m. on Thursday. The matter was able to be mediated without the need for further police involvement.
• City police were requested to remove a number of unwanted guests at a residence on Friday. Upon arrival of the police, all unwanted people had apparently left.
• City police received a call regarding a domestic dispute in progress at about 2 a.m. on Saturday. Upon arrival the police found no offence to have been committed, but successfully mediated the conflict between a 28-year-old female and a 25-year-old male.
• The Weyburn police received a request from Weyburn EMS to assist them with a potentially violent patient on Saturday. The assistance was provided without incident.
• Meantime, a rancher in the Ormiston district saw two persons stealing calves from his pasture at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Thursday.
The rancher saw a dark coloured Ford extended cab truck parked in an approach along Grid 717, which took off west bound when they saw the rancher coming toward them.
The rancher followed the truck to Highway 36, where he stopped following the vehicle. Three calves, all three to seven days old, were stolen. It appeared that there was one male and one female involved in this theft.
