Four adults – two males and two females – have been charged for alleged drug trafficking after a lengthy combined services investigation in the Estevan area.
This investigation began in January 2019 involving a specialized integrated unit, municipal police services, the RCMP and other support units. The majority of investigation was carried out by an investigative unit then-known as the Regina Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU), in partnership with the Estevan Police Service, Estevan RCMP, Regina Police Service, Saskatoon Police Service and the National Weapons Enforcement Support Team (NWEST).
The team investigated drug trafficking offences alleged to have occurred between November 2016 and November 2019.
The investigation involved the execution of numerous search warrants and the seizure of drugs, cash and firearms.
Four adults from the Estevan area were arrested Thursday, without incident, by members of the Estevan Police Service and Integrated Crime Reduction Team (I-CRT).
The individuals charged in connection with this case are Andrew James Young, 38, Lindy Erin Darling, 37, Kyra Lorelle Gessner, 22, and Craig E. Tendler, 35, all of Estevan.
They are jointly charged with conspiracy to traffic cocaine. Also in connection with this project, both Young and Darling were previously charged with weapons offences on Feb. 14.
Those charges stemmed from search warrants executed on Nov. 14, 2019.
All four accused have been released by a justice of the peace on an undertaking and will make their first court appearances on the charges in Estevan Provincial Court on June 29.
The Mercury will have more details as they become available.
