The Weyburn District Regional Planning Commission announced the appointment of a new chairman, Pat Maloney.
Pat brings experience as a board leader, in addition to technical expertise resulting from an extensive career in the land surveying profession.
“Pat will be an asset to the Planning Commission as we move forward. One of our shared values is to foster sustainable growth within our communities. Pat’s leadership will allow us to achieve our mission to provide a joint approach to future land use, fringe development and other matters of inter-municipal or regional concerns,” said Reeve Carmen Sterling of the RM of Weyburn and WDRPC Commission member.
Pat chaired his first meeting on Friday.
Since its beginning in 2010, the Weyburn District Regional Planning Commission has been a model of inter-municipal communications, focusing on shared values outlined in the Official District Plan:
• Planned, balanced, and sustainable growth.
• Mutually beneficial partnerships and inter-municipal collaboration.
• The maintenance of a high quality of life for citizens.
• Efficient, effective, and sustainable infrastructure.
The Weyburn Planning District is comprised of the Rural Municipality of Weyburn and the City of Weyburn.
