Public school board verifies director’s new contract

The South East Cornerstone’s board of trustees passed a motion on June 28 to retain the services of their current director of education, Lynn Little with a new contract.

The South East Cornerstone’s board of trustees passed a motion on June 28 to retain the services of their current director of education, Lynn Little with a new contract.

The decision was made following an evaluation of the director’s activities during the past couple of years following her appointment to the position after the resignation of former director Marc Casavant.

Trustee Harold Laich who was a member of the evaluation committee, that reported to the entire board, said Little had completed key elements of policy changes, monitored reports and practised sound fiscal management while meeting all the targets set out for her by the governing board.

“If certain issues weren’t handled, it was explained why they were not, and our director handled all the situations as they arose,” said Laich.

The governance committee submitted their written report for the entire board to review prior to the approval of the motion.

Trustee Elwood Green said the board was pleased with Little’s performance and had approved and backed her actions over the past year.

The amended contract to include a modest increase in salary was approved unanimously.
