This week marks the start of ticket sales for the annual musical entitled, “High School Musical”, at the Weyburn Comprehensive School.
Advance tickets may be purchased from the school office Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (just inside the Cugnet Centre doors). The cost is $15 for adults and $8 for youth occupying a seat. Show times are Thursday, Friday and Saturday, May 25 to 27 at 7 p.m., and a matinee on Sunday, May 28 at 2 p.m.
This weekend, May 13, will see the best high school badminton players coming to Weyburn to compete for the Saskatchewan High Schools Athletic Association provincial championship. Sixty-four of these exceptionally talented athletes, including WCS’s Travis Friedrick and Curtis Regnier in boy’s doubles, will smash and clear the birds from 10 a.m. to approximately 4 p.m. in two pools for each category, followed by medal playoffs. Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for students. Come out and see how badminton is played by the best students Saskatchewan has to offer.
Saturday will also see the annual WCS Invitational Track meet to be held at the Summer Games Track behind the school. There is no admission charge, so come out see some track, watch some badminton and have some great food at the canteen.
The music students have returned from their spring trip to Minneapolis, and the middle years music students are preparing for their trip to Brandon later on this month.
