At 11 a.m. on Nov. 6 the first online casino in Saskatchewan was established despite the Saskatchewan Government's warnings it was illegal. The Northern Bear online casino launched offering people a chance to gamble online.

The Kisbey Volunteer Fire Department has had a solid year of fundraising and gaining donations from the community of nearly $10,000 has led to the acquisition of updated equipment.

Report from the Weyburn Police Service for the week of November 4 to 10: During the reporting period, the Weyburn Police Service attended to 82 calls for service, including a number of calls for minor vehicle accidents.

On Nov. 11, the Carlyle Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion held a Remembrance Day service in the Carlyle Elementary School gymnasium.

There was a little excitement at Carlyle Elementary School last Wednesday when machines digging to fix the sewer lines accidentally struck a water line.
