The Swift Current Broncos goaltending was just too much for the Estevan Apex Bruins, who lost 4-0 in Game 5 of their first round series in the South Saskatchewan Minor Hockey League's midget AA division in Swift Current Tuesday night.
The Bruins had a come-from-behind season in which they went their first six games without a win. Undaunted, they reeled off a big winning streak and were in first place in the league for a brief period in January before falling back to fifth place.
The Bruins fired 34 shots on Swift Current goaltender Jacob Herman, who went 3-1 in the playoff series. The Bruins trailed 1-0 after the first period and 3-0 after the second.
Bryson Garton stopped 25 shots in the Bruins net.
