Bantam AA Beavers advance to Western finals

The Weyburn Bantam AA Beavers will advance to westerns in Swift Current August 15-17 following their provincials win in Muenster over the weekend. The Beavers beat the host Muenster team 6-5 in a tough game.

The Weyburn Bantam AA Beavers have earned a spot in the westerns in Swift Current in August after capturing the provincial title over the weekend in Muenster. The Weyburn Bantam AA Beavers will advance to westerns in Swift Current August 15-17 following their provincials win in Muenster over the weekend.

The Beavers beat the host Muenster team 6-5 in a tough game. Weyburn was down 5-3 going into the bottom of the seventh inning, scoring one run and then Brett McMurchy getting a two run walk off double to win the game.

Their first game of the tournament was July 18 against Humboldt which the Beavers won 2-1. On Saturday morning, the Beavers kept Moose Jaw from getting a run with a 5-0 win.

In the semi-finals on Sunday morning against Lloydminster, the Beavers won 8-4 which put them into the finals.

Winning the final and capturing the provincials puts the Beavers in Swift Current for Western Finals in August. The Beavers coaches are Coaches are Greg Happ, Tom Rudy, Trent Daunheimer.
