Bantam Bear Cats split with Regina team

The split a pair of games last weekend with the Regina Bisons at their home rink in Carlyle, losing 6-4 Saturday but coming through with a 4-1 win Sunday in South Saskatchewan Bantam A Hockey League action. 

On Saturday, the Bisons had a 3-1 lead after the first but the Bear Cats tied it up after the second period on a pair of power play goals. A pair of early third period goals by Regina brought back the lead they wouldn't give up again, even after Hanna Jeworski notched one with 7:23 left. Other goals were scored by Kiley Davis, Kamri Olfert and Kassidy Johnson. Missy Biermann took the loss in net.

Sunday, Karissa Elliot scored with 2:07 left in the first to help the Bear Cats jump out to a lead and then three second period goals pushed them out further, Johnson with a pair and Caydence Chapman with a single goal were all the scoring the Bear Cats would need. Biermann went the distance in net for the win.

The Bear Cats next game is Friday in Regina and then they play a pair at home in Carlyle against Moose Jaw (3 p.m. Saturday) and Balcarras (noon Sunday).
