The Weyburn Beavers are currently in third place in the Eastern division of the Western Major Baseball League. The Beavers hosted three home games over the weekend, after starting their 2017 season with road games.
“Our home opener went pretty well. We won two out of three games,” said Zach Frazier, catcher for the Beavers.
“We started out the season great, going 4-2 on the road trip, and it was nice to get a few home games under our belt,” added Frazier.
He said that in particular it was good to come back for a win against the Swift Current 57s, who are the defending WMBL champion.
“Swift Current is definitely one of the best teams in the league, so it was nice to gauge ourselves against them early in the season. There is no reason why we can’t defeat the league champs this year,” said Frazier.
