Beavers remain at .500 in the eastern division

The Weyburn Senior Beavers had a thrilling final inning 4-3 win over the Moose Jaw Miller Express during a Father’s Day home game on Sunday.
The Beavers have dropped to fourth place in the eastern division of the Western Major Baseball League, having a .500 record, with seven wins and seven losses. They are just behind Moose Jaw for third place and two games behind Regina, who are in second place.
During their Father’s Day home game, it was the Miller Express who scored the first run of the game in the first inning. Weyburn came back with a run in the third to tie up the game. In the fourth inning, Moose Jaw scored once, while Weyburn scored two runs. The Miller Express scored one run in the fifth inning to tie the game. The game remained tied, until the bottom of the ninth inning, when the Beavers were able to score the game-winning run.
Garrett Waters was the starting pitcher for the Beavers. He had three runs scored off seven hits in nine innings.
The Beavers lost a close 6-5 game to the Regina Red Sox during a home game on Friday night. Regina started strong with two runs in the first inning and one run in the third inning. The Beavers were able to tie up the game with three runs during the bottom of the third inning.
Regina scored two runs in the fifth inning, and the Beavers caught up after scoring one run in both the fifth and sixth innings. The game remained tied after nine innings. Regina finally closed the game, after scoring a run in the 11th inning.
Landon Mostellar was the starting pitcher for the Beavers. He had five runs scored off 10 hits in five innings. Cody Pamperin and Eric Evans each had some time on the mound for the last half of the game.
After heavy showers postponed a game against the Brooks Bombers, the Beavers played a doubleheader against the Alberta team on Thursday. The Bombers won both games, 5-4 in the first one and 4-3 in the second one.
During the first game, Brooks started strong with one run in the first inning, two in the second and one more in the third. The Beavers were able to tie up the game by scoring four times in the sixth inning. The game remained tied after the seventh inning, which should have been the normal end for a doubleheader game. Brooks was able to score the game-winning run in the 10th inning.
Austin Gurr started on the mound, and had four runs scored off four hits in two innings. Brodie Stairs, Evans and Beau Rabedeaux also had time on the mound during the game.
During the second game, Brooks had another strong start with three runs in the first inning. Both teams then scored one run each in the third inning. Weyburn scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh, but was unable to tie up the game.
Conner DiNaro started on the mound for the Beavers. He had four runs scored off six hits in five innings. Carson Perkins pitched clean-up.
The Beavers were in Moose Jaw on Tuesday night. They will be in Regina today, June 21 and then travel to Swift Current on Thursday, June 22. The Beavers will be back at Tom Laing Park for a game against Yorkton on Friday, June 23.
