Although it won’t be A-side gold, there will be some gold to play for in the case of both of Estevan’s teams at Saskatchewan Lacrosse Provincials at Affinity Place and the Power Dodge Ice Centre Sunday.
The Harris Oilfield Construction peewee Voltz will be playing the Saskatoon Quikstix for B side gold Sunday at 11 a.m. at the Power Dodge Ice Centre while the KPCL bantam Voltz will be playing Saskatoon Forgotten Rebels for their B side gold medal at 12:30 p.m. at Affinity Place.
The bantam Voltz won a dramatic game in their last round robin match Saturday afternoon with an 8-7 win over the Prince Albert Predators. Kaden Chrest scored on a breakaway with only a little over a second on the clock to give the Voltz the win, He scored the last four goals unanswered in the last eight minutes of the game.
The peewee Voltz, meanwhile, won their playoff game 5-1 over the Weyburn Security Thrashers. Ryder Davidson scored two in the game, including the eventual game winner with 6:21 on the clock in the first period.
