The Power Dodge Estevan Bruins continued to thrive against the Weyburn Red Wings, as they defeated Weyburn 4-2 on Wednesday night at Affinity Place.
Zach Goberis had the only goal of the first period, as he scored 9:21 in to give the Bruins a 1-0 lead. The Bruins outshot the Red Wings 15-4 in the frame.
Jayden Davis scored a short-handed goal 6:41 into the second period to double the advantage, but Landon Walters' goal a few minutes later cut the Bruins lead in half.
Michael McChesney's goal 40 seconds into the third restored the Bruins two-goal lead, but a power play goal by Mike Eskra trimmed the lead to one once again. McChesney scored his second of the game into an empty net with 13 seconds to play to round out the scoring.
Matt Lukacs stopped 27 shots in the Bruin net for the victory. Liam McCloskey stopped 29 shots for Weyburn.
The Bruins have won all five of their games with the Red Wings this season.
With the win, the Bruins improved their record to 28-17-3-2. They are seven points ahead of the Red Wings.
Estevan's next home game is Saturday night at home against the Battlefords North Stars. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
